In Africa’s biggest city, a haven for biodiversity flourishes amidst pressures, reports Kolawole Talabi. In the absence of publicly owned protected areas in Lagos state, a private initiative of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation — the Lekki Conservation Centre — has stepped in to fill the gap. As pressures mount on the former federal capital’s biodiversity, there are calls to replicate this effective model.
